Case Study 4 Data Handling

This case study was made by Group 1 Eagles (Andy = questions 1,2,3 ; Charlotte = questions 4,5,6)
Q1: How could Mussie and Ellie find out whether older people do more for charity than younger people?
They could go to charity site to check if which age does most charity.
Q2: Why does Mussie think that these data prove him right? Why might Ellie think that these data do not prove him right?
Cause Mussie checked the site for charity. Because it was one site, it only tells how much they did and teenager's charity is rising.
Q3: What questions should they think?
How old are you? How much money do you give to charity? How much time do you spend doing charity work?

Q4 How many questionnaires should they hand out? Who do you think should fill in their questionnaire?
They should give out 40 copies, because you don't want to give out too many copies because too much information will be difficult to handle, but too little information is insufficient. They should give the questionnaires to different age groups (elderly , adults , teenagers , children).

Q5 Which software could Mussie and Ellie use to put the answers into the computer? How can they check that the data are correct? How could they reduce the number of errors in the data? What problems might there be if the data were typed in incorrectly?

They should use Microsoft Excel © for inputting their data. They should double check the data with the information on the questionnaires. They can check the formulas with a calculator, and make sure all the same types of formula are consistent. If there is incorrectly typed data the result of the related formulas and the result of the questionnaire will be incorrect as well.

Q6 What is the best way for Ellie and Mussie to present their results?

Ellie and Mussie should use a chart. A pie chart is the best way to show the results clearly.
